Contemporary Side Return & Rear Extension Sussex – Project by DSN+BD

This thoughtfully designed side and rear house extension in Brighton included a full internal remodelling of a classic Victorian period property, carried out by DSN+BD Construction. The project was carefully planned to maximise natural light, improve spatial flow, and enhance the functionality of the home, all while preserving and celebrating the original architectural character.

Our Brighton-based team delivered a striking open-plan kitchen and living area, seamlessly connected to the garden—creating a bright, modern space ideal for family life and entertaining. The project also reconfigured the internal layout to improve circulation and usability throughout the home.

Combining modern extension design with sensitive period renovation, we used a carefully curated palette of materials and finishes to balance contemporary interventions with historic details.
